Guy Lester

Vice President, National Director, Sales and Marketing National Director, Web Strategy Services, New York

Mr. Lester is a Vice President in Segal’s New York office with over 30 years of experience in marketing and communications and over 17 years of experience in consulting. He is the firm’s National Director of Sales and Marketing and Web Strategy Services. Mr. Lester and members of his team work with Segal’s Communications Practice to provide creative services to clients – from concept to completion and through print, electronic, and audio and video materials – in support of human resources, benefits and training programs.

Mr. Lester works with Segal’s senior management to build yearly and multi-year marketing strategies, and leads Segal’s in-house marketing group to implement these strategies across all channels and media. Initiatives include direct marketing (electronic and print), event marketing (third-party conferences and Segal-sponsored events), websites and sales support. Segal’s marketing team includes writers, graphics designers, event coordinators, web specialists and audio/video professionals.

Mr. Lester joined Segal as a Writer in the Public Affairs and Marketing Department and has held numerous positions with the firm over the course of his career. As Manager of Marketing Communications, his responsibilities included creating model proposals and presentations and serving as webmaster and primary developer for Segal’s intranet. Mr. Lester was named National Director, Web Strategy Services, in 2002. He became a Vice President in 2005 and Segal’s Director of Marketing in 2006. Before joining the firm, Mr. Lester spent four years as Managing Editor of a medical publishing company that developed Continuing Medical Education materials for physicians. Prior to that, he owned a production company, serving the pharmaceutical industry and other clients as a Writer and Producer of audio and video programs.

Mr. Lester received a BA in Communications and Journalism from Fordham University.

From 1994 through 2005, Mr. Lester was editor and product manager of Health Report, Segal’s health wellness newsletter -- selecting topics, writing articles, and working directly with some of the firm’s largest clients in preparing personalized text for this quarterly publication. He has also written for consumer health publications and books, such as The Good Health Fact Book and Live Longer, Live Better, both published by Reader’s Digest Books; as well as for books on travel, American history, and popular culture.
