Senseless Acts

George Floyd. Ahmaud Arbery. Breonna Taylor.

Their horrifying killings and killings of so many others are disturbing reminders of the dangers Black people face in America as a part of their daily lives. They shine a light on the fact that racism is, unfortunately, woven into the fabric of our country in ways both seen and unseen.

I am outraged by these senseless acts and, in the best tradition of this country, support the right and need to peacefully protest injustice and to call on our institutions and government to implement substantive and sustainable change.

One of Segal’s core values is to treat others the way we want to be treated: with integrity, civility, mutual respect and a spirit of cooperation. We must be vigilant in living and working in accord with these ideals, not only to help our business succeed, but also to serve as a role model for society.
